This apartment refurbishment sits high above the buzz of Queen Street in Auckland City, within an existing building that had seen better days.
When we first visited it was clear the space needed a complete transformation, both in form and function. Our clients love to entertain and wanted a home that felt inviting, timeless, and refined. With a strong appreciation for British vintage design, they sought a classic aesthetic with a sense of history and comfort.
The apartment was fully stripped back and completely relined. New flooring was carefully installed around existing structural elements, fire services, and plumbing — all while maintaining a clean, cohesive finish. The design brief called for understated elegance, with every element chosen to enhance, not overpower, the space.
A key part of the design was integrating the clients’ cherished collection of vintage furniture and artwork. Bespoke cabinetry, fixtures, and fittings were designed to complement and showcase these pieces, creating a seamless blend of old and new. The result is a sophisticated inner-city apartment that celebrates the owners’ style while offering warmth, function, and enduring charm.
