Business at the Front, Party at the Back
Westmere
All dressed up and a little bit fancy in front; relaxed, fun and contemporary to the rear, here’s a home we helped grow into the handsome place it was always meant to be. Previously, the street appeal of this 1920s-character bungalow in Westmere was somewhat missing.
We introduced formal garden elements and a garage that tie in with the original architecture. Typical of its era, the home’s interior was rich in texture, timber and intensity but quite rambling, disconnected from the outdoors and the former maid’s kitchen was underwhelming. By re-organising parts, we enhanced the formal qualities and made the kitchen the heart. Now, it’s much more with spaces that rival the original aesthetic in a modern, character-filled way. The new kitchen seamlessly connects to an adjacent outdoor kitchen extension, an entertainer’s delight, which flows to a covered deck, outdoor fire, pool and cabana allowing for easy socialising. Our complementary fitout and a new colour palette perfectly balances the richness of the existing house.
