Push Me Pull You
Concept
Auckland Central
Tucked into a leafy pocket of central Auckland, this home is conceived as a study in rhythm, texture, and quiet sculptural form.
A palette of white brick and warm cedar establishes a sense of calm permanence, while a finely detailed cedar screen wraps the façade like a piece of folded timber origami. This motif becomes the project’s guiding language, carried beyond the exterior and woven through the architecture itself. Subtle shifts in the floor plan echo the idea of folding and unfolding, creating moments of compression and release, while bespoke cabinetry continues the theme with crisp lines and faceted surfaces.
The home is arranged as a generous four-bedroom family residence, designed for both everyday ease and layered living. Alongside it, a separate pool house offers a flexible retreat, equally suited as a home office, guest space, or quiet escape, extending the functionality of the house into the garden.
Set within its verdant surroundings, the architecture balances softness and precision, solidity and lightness. It is a home that reveals itself gradually, where each fold, screen, and surface contributes to a cohesive and quietly expressive whole.
